Incredible Christmas -The Story

Ben doesn't want to do his homework and write a Christmas story, it's far more fun watching TV,  Yuletube, or playing his switch. Mum threatens to cancel Christmas and in a fit of temper Ben throws all his books on the floor. All of the stories become muddled and with some pantomime magic a new book appears - in the film -  and in your classroom!  Prince Charming arrives and realises that everything has gone very wrong.

 

The audience will become the 'Creative Powers' and will journey with Ben throughout well known pantomime and children's stories to help everyone get back to where they belong. They will need to use their imaginations, get out of their chairs, shout and laugh as they help create settings, invent a rap, make the sounds and talk to the characters. They will be having so much fun they wont even realise they are learning all kinds of story writing tricks along the way.  From pirates to Sally Jotter, Peter Pan to Aladdin, these wonderful characters help Ben and the audience to create the most 'Incredible Christmas Story' ever!  Will mum cancel Christmas? Not with your help!

The Educational Twist

Throughout the pantomime antics we include PSHE and national curriculum areas supporting literacy, reading and the big write. 'The Incredible Christmas Story' is packed with curriculum linked ideas. As Ben is encouraged to explore the wonder of his imagination,so are the audience, and every character that appears has something to involve the audience with as well as some knowledge to share. 

 

To give you a taste of how it works Prince Charming needs help to woo the Princess and with the help of the audience writes some modern poetry (a rap). The Wolf needs help as he's lost his setting and the audience can get up and create it. Sally Jotter reveals the magic of imagination as we picture a beanstalk and Aladdin shows us the power of description.

The Interaction

During the film pupils will continually take part in fun audience interaction.

You are encouraged to get involved by the characters.

Offer suggestions, advice, and help save Christmas.

You will be sent a clear and simple guide accompanying the film explaining how to really bring it all to life, with some simple ideas as to how the digital experience can be enhanced within your school.

If it helps, we are offering a brief live online training session for teachers as part of the film package.
